<video:title>Minimal City</video:title>
<video:description>The city is alive: people, cars, buses and trains are on the move – around the clock. You steer the whole city with nine City controls in three groups – “City” with Residents, Jobs and New building, “Traffic” with Switch to bus & rail, Traffic lights and Car-free centre, “Public transport” with Buses, Underground frequency and Suburban rail frequency. Residents and jobs are estimated for each building: raise the residents and pavements and roads fill up while living space per head shrinks; with new building the houses visibly grow by up to two storeys; whoever switches to bus and train frees the roads – but trains only have so much room, and the rest wait on the platform. In the “Life & experience” tab you set Shops, Food & drink, Bars & clubs, Culture, Independent scene and Street festivals, or pick “Deserted”, “Normal” or “Lively” straight away: the venues light up in the city, clubs pulse at night, festivals get stage lights and crowds. Every move takes effect at once: the City index sits large at the top – the average of mobility, liveability and experience –, a line below it names the effect compared with the normal day, the same city without controls. On the right the City pulse (key L) shows in three tabs – Effects, Traffic, Life – what lies behind it. In Analysis six lenses – Density, Jobs, Traffic, Crowding, Liveability, Venues – show where it gets dense, full or cramped; hotspots above the city name the places. In the Layers view the city fades out, and below it underground and suburban trains run on the real tracks; in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich the tram runs as a system of its own. Tap a train or a bus and the camera rides along; a station shows its departure board. Click into the city to see what is going on – say on Invalidenstraße next to Berlin’s main…</video:description>

<video:title>Minimal Factory</video:title>
<video:description>In Minimal Factory you steer 16 real sites in Germany, teeming with activity – on real terrain from official elevation data, built of cuboids in materials such as brick, concrete, sheet metal, rust and paint, with fire, smoke and rolling waves. No order, no rounds: all of them share the same five levers – investment, workforce, supply, quality and market. Every change shows at once output, sales, stockpile and the result per day in euros, plus success from 0 to 100; 10 seconds are one working day. Investment builds out visibly: up to three blast furnaces at the Henrichshütte in Hattingen, as in the 1960s, four lines at Opel-Werk I in Bochum-Laer, three in a future factory after the Mercedes-Benz plant in Düsseldorf, elsewhere coke oven batteries, shafts, washeries, blast furnaces, compressors, quays with cranes, rolling mills, lifts and locks, adits, weaving sheds, ring kilns, container cranes or building docks. Real monuments come to life, the stockpiles fill, and trains, trucks, ships and pipelines run with the volume. When something breaks down at the Henrichshütte, the area flashes red and fitters come. The car plants show production from the inside, from the coil to the first start, the future factory robot cells, driverless transport vehicles, drones and a robot dog; a factory tour travels at eye level from station to station.</video:description>

<video:title>Minimal Mine</video:title>
<video:description>“Colliery at work” opens Zollverein as a city underground, first in “Section”: the headframe stands at the top of the cut edge, the shaft runs down it. ‹ › leafs through the 21 researched collieries, and no two are alike. Their workings follow the research: levels at their real depths, shafts by purpose, seams lying flat or steep, major faults, central shaft sites and links to neighbouring collieries; above, their surroundings from OpenStreetMap with real heights. Everywhere there is work: cages and skips run, locomotive trains shuttle to the pit bottom, ploughs and belts bring the coal out of the longwalls, miners arrive for the change of shift, fresh air flows in bright, return air leaves warm. In “Surface” the coal carries on through screening and washery onto the heaps, into the colliery railway, the coking plant or harbour. Underground you pick all or just levels, faces, coal, air or water; on the surface and in the section the cubes cast shadows. Six controls – Miners, Longwalls, Trains, Shaft, Ventilation, Pumps – set the operation, calculated from the colliery’s data. Leave the controls alone and the camera tour takes over. Fan, sheaves, trains, longwall, belt and pump sound where they are.</video:description>

<video:title>Minimal Water</video:title>
<video:description>“Start” opens the water cycle: at the bottom three big levers – Rain, Heat, Consumption – and four weather presets that set them with one tap. The landscape shows what they do: in good times the houses are bright, fields bloom, flocks of birds cross the forest. In a drought fields wither, trees die, the river turns narrow and warm, dead fish drift, the reservoir dries out from the shore; dry forest can catch fire. When the town runs short of water, whole neighbourhoods fade, houses stand empty and decay. Lots of rain brings floods and overflowing sewers. At the top sit water in town, storage and five values, and signs on the map mark where things happen; tap to fly there. On the right a small wheel, at the bottom a subtitle explaining what is happening. Trees of trunk and crown sway in the wind; dead ones leave grey trunks, burnt ones black, and fields have rows. With rain the land recovers, a dead forest does not. For specialists the “Control room – for experts” remains.</video:description>

<video:description>As a knight with shield, plume and cloak you fight your way through a living sculpture of cubes: paths over several levels, halls with arches and stairs, chasms only a roll carries you across. Enemy groups wake up when you come close; a Leader with crown and cape guards the gate. One button: up close you swing the Sword – slash, backhand, whirl –, farther away a floating companion shoots the nearest target, with eight ranged weapons from Arcane Bolt to Lance. Battle staff and Hammer lie waiting as loot; you also charge the shockwave and pick upgrades such as Chain pulse or Double wave.</video:description>

<video:description>You fly over the City, the Ocean, the Desert and through the Canyon – landscapes of cubes in clear sunlight and real water with waves, surf and white water. Enemies in grey and olive with red markings: jets, drones, helicopters, tank columns, missile trucks, flak and patrol boats, plus steampunk zeppelins, air cruisers and warships. Crates on parachutes bring the Laser, Spread shot or Cannon, plus Missiles, Bombs, Drone and Shield – visible on your ship. You shoot down whole formations – they go up in seething fireballs and clouds of smoke that cast shadows – and trigger the Break when it is ready. Along the way the bosses Colossus, Ringwork and Core are waiting.</video:description>

<video:title>Minimal Volume</video:title>
<video:description>The pieces don’t fall into a well but into a volume: you turn, tip and roll them on three axes and close whole layers. Each piece appears well above the volume, leaving time to turn it; with “Stop” it waits until you drop it. The keys are shown right at the piece, and the X-ray marks hidden gaps in red. All around, the light is alive: the falling piece glows in its colour and tints the stack beneath it, the lamps on the columns answer the music, a light grid stretches to the horizon. When a piece locks, a wave runs across the square; when a layer fills, a column of light rises and a shock wave passes through the image. And again and again one of twelve events appears: shooting stars, searchlights, fireworks, a thunderstorm, a light train circling the square, columns jumping like dominoes, northern lights or a lighthouse.</video:description>
